Mission
We provide individual support to TRIO Scholars through collaborative approaches to ensure enriching, engaging, full and fulfilling transition, retention, graduation and post-graduation experiences and success.
What is TRIO?
TRIO is a federally funded U.S. Department of Education program that supports first generation, low income, and/or students with disabilities transition into and graduate from college. TRIO Scholars have access to financial literacy workshops, academic support, advising, and cultural and professional development events.
Washington University TRIO Communal Drivers
Scholarship – TRIO participants will fully embrace their roles as Scholars and become actively engaged in the classroom and beyond;
Leadership – TRIO staff and program participants will inform and participate in socio-economic diversity conversations, activities and research on campus;
Stewardship – TRIO participants will help shape, more than ever before, the direction of the TRIO program;
Partnership – TRIO will become more visible in the Washington University community and Washington University will become more visible in the TRIO community; and
Fellowship – TRIO participants will be known, by name and by story, by faculty, staff, their program colleagues and others in the university community.
