Green Bandana Project

Green Bandana ProjectThe Bandana Project is a student-driven movement dedicated to preventing suicide by promoting help-seeking behavior and increasing awareness of mental health resources on college campuses.  The bandana became the primary symbol of the project, signifying that a student carrying a bandana is an advocate for mental health, a trusted source of support, and knowledgeable of mental health and suicide prevention resources available to students.

After a short orientation and basic suicide prevention training (QPR and Kogitio), student participants can attach or display a WashU customized green bandana on their backpack, bag, or person, signifying they have pledged to be a safe individual to approach for mental health and suicide prevention resources at WashU.

How to become an ambassador:

1.      Complete the two required suicide prevention trainings

2.      Schedule your orientation session here to receive your bandana and materials!
