Dr. Brounk graduated cum laude with departmental distinction in psychology from Carleton College, and received both his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in counseling psychology from The Ohio State University. He trained at OSU’s Counseling and Consultation Service, Denison University’s Counseling Service, and the Dayton Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and completed his internship at the University of Texas at Austin Counseling and Mental Health Center. In 2002, Dr. Brounk was presented the Kathryn Hopwood Award from Ohio State’s Student Personnel Assistantship program for outstanding and sustained leadership, commitment, and service to the counseling and psychology profession. Dr. Brounk’s professional interests include anxiety management, LGBT issues, and multicultural concerns. In 2009, he received the James M. Holobuagh honor in recognition of his commitment and contribution to the St. Louis LGBT community.
