Dr. Donn Kleinschmidt is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He completed his medical degree and masters in neuroscience at Washington University in St. Louis. He went on to complete his psychiatric residency at St. Louis University and became the medical director for the inpatient psychiatric unit at Wohl Hospital at St. Louis University. Dr. Kleinschmidt went on to work as a medical director at a national psychiatric managed care company. He spent several years working as a disability consultant for ATT and MetLIfe. Throughout his administrative work, he has maintained an active private practice with a primary focus of working with chronically depressed and anxious adult patients. His interests are using psychopharmacology and his psychodynamic training to better understand, assess and treat complex patients. He has worked with the LGBT and AIDS communities since the 1980’s. Dr. Kleinschmidt is board certified in general psychiatry.
