Mission Statement
The Office for International Student Engagement Office (OISE) is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive global community by adhering to three fundamental pillars: Visibility, Engagement, and Cultural Enrichment.
- Visibility: At OISE, we recognize the importance of raising awareness and celebrating the diverse cultures represented on our campus. Our mission is to promote the visibility of international students and their unique perspectives. We strive to create an environment where every student feels seen, heard, and valued, irrespective of their background. Through various initiatives and events, we aim to shine a spotlight on the rich tapestry of cultures, traditions, and experiences that make our campus a global mosaic.
- Engagement: Building meaningful connections across cultures is at the core of our mission. We are committed to facilitating opportunities for students to engage with one another, exchange ideas, and forge lifelong friendships. Through language exchange programs, cultural festivals, and cross-cultural workshops, we provide a platform for students to step out of their comfort zones, broaden their horizons, and develop a global perspective. Our goal is to empower students to become active global citizens who can navigate a diverse world with empathy and confidence.
- Cultural Enrichment: Cultural enrichment is a vital part of our mission, as it contributes to the personal and academic growth of our students. We believe that exposure to different cultures fosters creativity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world. ISEO is committed to offering a wide range of cultural enrichment programs, including international film screenings, art exhibitions, and academic lectures. By immersing students in the beauty and complexity of global cultures, we hope to inspire curiosity and a lifelong passion for learning.
