Assistant Director, Career Development

Kirsten Smith

I have been at WashU since 2001 in a variety of roles, but at the center of all the work I’ve done is the student experience and supporting students as they develop their values, passions and interests. I started my career at WashU in the College of Arts & Sciences, moved to the First Year Center, then the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Students, and most recently was an Assistant Director in the Office of Scholar Programs. Over the years, I have served as a four-year advisor in Arts & Sciences to more than 300 students. Now as a career coach, I work with undergraduate, graduate and alumni interested in exploring fields in healthcare and the sciences. In my free time I play tennis both recreationally and competitively and love to travel and try new restaurants.
