Brett DeHekker, MEd

Assistant Director, Career Development

I hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in counseling with five years of experience in higher education academic advising and career coaching. I am a nationally certified counselor and a provisionally licensed professional counselor in the state of Missouri. I am certified in the Strong Interest Inventory Assessment and career coaching through the ICF. I also have four years of experience in the software-as-a-service industry and four years of combined counseling and non-profit work in the K-12 education sector. I’m passionate about empowering students to find their niche and discover their professional identity with the ultimate goal of finding success and satisfaction in their careers. Outside of Washington University, I enjoy playing recreational basketball and going to trivia nights with my wife and our friends.
