Jordan Cooper

Jordan (she, her, hers) serves as the inaugural Director, Cross-Cultural Connections in the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. In her role as Director, Cross-Cultural Connections, she plays a key role in the advocacy, development, and growth of diversity and inclusion programs and support initiatives that prioritize social justice and identity development of students. There is an emphasis on creating programs and initiatives that build bridges across community, but through her work in CCxN, she also facilitates affinity space and caucusing in community.

Throughout Jordan’s professional tenure at WashU, she has held roles in in Undergraduate Admissions, Residential Life, and WashU Cares. She has advised the Association of Black Students and Hamsini Living Learning Community. She has also served as an Instructor for the Dialogue Across Difference (DxD) course and served as a trainer to onboard new Instructors for that program. In 2019 Jordan was the recipient of the Inclusive Excellence Award through the Division of Student Affairs.

She is a proud alumna of Washington University in St. Louis, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies and Dance in the College of Arts & Sciences, as well as her Master’s degree in Social Work from the Brown School.
