The Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS) is dedicated to fostering an environment that celebrates our international students’ and scholars’ experiences, cultures and aspirations. OISS plays a pivotal role in cultivating a vibrant, intercultural atmosphere on our campus, extending support to international students, scholars, faculty and staff through immigration sponsorship. Our commitment is to ensure a seamless integration process for those who are admitted, appointed or employed by WashU.

Grounded in the belief that education can shape global perspectives, our mission is to empower our international community with the knowledge and resources needed to navigate U.S. immigration compliance, while guiding them with care and compassion at every step.
Who We Serve
International students make up more than 30% of WashU’s student body and enrich the academic experience of all students. Each year, WashU also sponsors hundreds of international scholars in disciplines across campus.
