The RSVP Center offers the following trainings. Please complete the form below to request a training session.
General Office Trainings
- Participants can identify the RSVP Center (its location and role on campus).
- Participants are aware of the scope of RSVP services.
- Participants can identify the correct referrals for students, and can identify which campus sources are confidential.
Student Leader Trainings
- Student leaders can identify the RSVP Center (its location and role on campus) and its available resources.
- Student leaders are aware of their limitations as students in offering emotional support and services to others, and are aware of their responsibilities as mandated campus reporters.
- Student leaders can comfortably utilize the ‘listen, support, and refer’ model.
Trauma-Informed Trainings
- Participants can identify and define trauma, as well as recognize signs of trauma.
- Participants can respond to trauma with professionalism and sensitivity.
- Participants know how to refer students to campus resources, and can identify best practices for referral.
- Participants can identify the correct referrals for students, and can identify which campus sources are confidential.
- Participants can identify the potential impacts of trauma on daily functioning.
Bystander Intervention Trainings
- Participants can identify best practices for bystander intervention.
- Participants can identify barriers for bystander intervention.
- Participants can identify situations when they should intervene.
- Participants are aware of the impacts of interpersonal violence and the utility of bystander intervention as a form of harm reduction.
Alcohol/Consent Trainings
- Participants can identify incapacitation, and know the best actions to take when someone they know is incapacitated.
- Participants can understand the Fries Model and identify different aspects of consent.
- Participants are aware that physical arousal is not consent.
