Internship & Job Career Fair

The Danforth Campus will host local and national organizations hiring for internships, co-ops, and jobs twice a year at the Internship & Job Career Fair.

The fair provides WashU students a unique opportunity to meet and interview with dozens of potential employers in a short amount of time. All WashU students and alumni are invited to attend. Professional attire (a suit) is strongly recommended. The career fair is open to all WashU students and alumni with a valid ID at check-in. Visit the Career Fair mobile site for a current list of employers and positions.

All students should dress professionally (suit).  Conservative colors (black, navy, gray, khaki) are recommended without a lot of accessories.  You want to be remembered by your personality and smart answers, not the clothing/accessories you’re wearing. See the Career Center’s Pinterest boards for ideas on what to wear to the Career Fair.
Do I need to bring copies of my resume?
Yes, you need to bring multiple copies of your resume.  The Career Center has resume paper you may use to print copies.
I’ve never attended a Career Fair before. What can I expect and what should I do once I’m there?
You will need to bring your student ID for check-in.  The fair will have the employers arranged alphabetical order around the gym. You will approach the organizations that you’re interested in learning more about. You should ask questions about their internships/entry level positions, career paths, and growth areas. It’s best to research some of the companies prior to attending the fair.  That way you have a basic understanding of their business and provide the ability to ask informed questions.

The Career Fair mobile website can be very helpful during the fair. Use it to sort employers based on majors or types of students they hire.

The Career Center will have a booth at the fair to answer any questions you have and provide additional guidance on how to work the fair.
