Admissions Process Documentation

Passport Biographical Page

Students must provide a copy of the biographical page of their passport.

Financial Documentation

Students requesting a DS-2019 or I-20 (applying for an F-1 or J-1 visa) must show proof of funding for one year. Funding may come from university scholarships and fellowships, personal or family funds, or sponsorship. Accepted proof of funding include financial statements, sponsorship letters, fellowship and stipend award letters, etc.

Students who are not receiving full funding from the university, must submit the Affidavit of Financial Support along with proof of funding. For questions, students should contact their Admissions representative.

Financial documentation is only required for those applying for an F-1 Student Visa, or J-1 Exchange Visitor Visa.

New Student Status Forms

New Undergraduate students

New undergraduate students who are in the U.S., or have an active U.S. visa status at the time of admission are required to complete the New Undergraduate Student Status Form. Current F-1 or J-1 students who want to transfer their SEVIS record to WashU must complete this form to receive instructions on how to initiate a SEVIS transfer request.

New Graduate students

All new graduate students are required to complete the New Graduate Student Status Form. Current F-1 or J-1 students who want to transfer their SEVIS record to WashU must complete this form to receive instructions on how to initiate a SEVIS transfer request.

Proof of English Language Proficiency

All international students must provide proof that they have met their admitting departments standard for English Language Proficiency. For more information on accepted tests, minimum scores and waivers, please visit English Proficiency Certification.

SEVIS Transfer Forms

Students in F-1 or J-1 visa status are not required to complete a WashU SEVIS Transfer-In Form. Instead we ask you to complete the New Student Status Form (see section above).
