The First Year Center Executive Board (FYX – pronounced “fix”) is a team of student employees that develop and implement programs and initiatives aimed to aid new students and parent and families in their transition into the Washington University. Each member previously served as student leadership. The First Year Center Executive Board members are responsible for supervising the Washington University Student Associates (WUSAs), developing programming and communications for first-year students, second-year students, transfer students, exchange students, and parent & family members.

My name is Jacqueline Baik and I’m so excited to serve as a WUSA Chair on the First Year Center Executive Board! I am a Junior from Skokie, Illinois, double majoring in the Interdisciplinary Project in the Humanities and Classics with a minor in Philosophy within the College of Arts and Sciences. Outside of the classroom and the First Year Center, I serve on the Executive Board of Phi Delta Phi, WashU’s Pre-Law Fraternity, and I am a member of the Washington University International Relations Council. I am also the student worker for the Classics Department and a research assistant for the IPH Department. As a student who has gotten so much out of all that the First Year Center has to offer, I am honored and thrilled to be a part of the team that makes it happen! I can’t wait to welcome the Class of 2023 to their new home at WashU!
My name is Aiden Blinn, and I’m a sophomore from Dallas, Texas. I’m a pre-med student majoring in neuroscience with minors in computer science and Spanish. Outside of the First Year Center, I’m a member of a service fraternity on campus, I write for WashU’s independent student newspaper, and I do cognitive psychology research. I’m thrilled to serve on the First Year Executive Board as a WUSA Chair and help train the members of the incoming WUSA League, and I’m excited to welcome the Class of 2023 to campus!
My name is Jacob Blum, and I am from Boca Raton, Florida. As a member of the class of 2021, I am double majoring in biology and economics with a minor in medical humanities. I am extremely excited to serve as a First Year WUSA Chair on the First Year Center Executive Board! Outside of the First Year Center, I write questions for the Washington University Chemistry Tournament, Volunteer with the Campus Y, and conduct genetics research at the medical school. I can’t wait to help the class of 2023 transition to WashU and to help create a positive first year experience.
My name is Libby Evan and I am a Junior from Albany, New York. I am majoring in Fine Art with a concentration in painting and a minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I am so excited to serve as a First-Year Programming Chair and cannot wait to do everything I can to make first-year students feel at home! I have loved being a WUSA and I am so thrilled to get the opportunity to pass on all that I have learned to the next WUSA League!
My name is Lydia Ho and I am excited to serve as the Parent & Family Programming Chair on the First Year Center Executive Board. I am in the Class of 2021, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in the Business of Sports. I currently call Hong Kong home, but have also lived in New York, Minnesota, and Ohio. Prior to being on the Board, I have worked as both a WUSA and a SOAR leader for the First Year Center. Outside of my involvement with the FYC, I give tours and tutor for the McKelvey School of Engineering and am active in the Asian Christian Fellowship. I look forward to welcoming the students and families of the Class of 2023!
My name is Allison Holleb and I am First Year WUSA chair. I’m a student in the Class of 2021 from Chicago, Illinois. I am studying in the College of Arts and Sciences, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Political Science. Outside of my commitments with the First Year Center, I’m a tour guide for the Office of Admissions, a member of Chi Omega sorority, and have enjoyed participating in a variety of civic engagement and community service opportunities on campus and within St. Louis. I’m honored to get to work with so many incredible student leaders this year, and I’m so excited to help the amazing new students of the Class of 2023 feel at home at WashU!
My name is Sarah Juang and I am a sophomore from Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am in the Olin Business School double majoring in Finance and Marketing. I am so excited to be involved as a First Year WUSA Chair and to be working with the WUSA program. Outside of my involvement with the first year center, I am involved in Leaders in Interpersonal Violence Education (LIVE) and am a member of Delta Gamma. I am so excited to welcome in incoming class of 2023 and make them feel at home in St. Louis. I am also thrilled to be working with the amazing leaders that are part of the WUSA league!
My name is Adina Loomis, and I am in the Class of 2021 in the College of Arts and Sciences majoring in International and Area Studies with a concentration in Global Cultural Studies. Following my passion for photography, I am also minoring in Art in the Sam Fox School. I am excited to be serving as a First Year WUSA Chair. I have really enjoyed being a WUSA, and I hope to use my experiences in that position to continue to improve the First-Year student experience. Outside of working with the First Year Center team I also enjoy photography, baking, reading, traveling (especially in Europe), as well as exploring St. Louis (my hometown) with my friends. My name is Lizzie Michalski and I am excited to serve as the First-Year Programming Chair. I am from Naperville, IL and I am a sophomore studying chemical engineering. Outside of the classroom and the First Year Center, I am involved in the Society of Women Engineers and I serve as a PLTL leader. I loved being a SOAR leader this summer, building lasting relationships with my peers and incoming students. I am so excited to be a part the First Year Center Executive Board and help welcome the class 2023!
My name is Benjamin Moore and I am a Sophomore from Cleveland, Ohio. On the First Year Center Executive Board I serve as a First Year WUSA Chair. As a Political Science major, I hope to attend law school post-graduation and become involved in international policy work. I am currently on the executive board of my fraternity, Tau Kappa Epsilon, as the Philanthropy Chair. I also love to partake in every intramural sport that Wash U. has to offer! I am so excited to be working with the First Year Center to make Wash U feel like home for new students!
My name is Katie Plotkin, and I am so excited to serve as a First-Year WUSA Chair! I am from Los Angeles, California and am studying in Olin Business School; I am pursuing a major in marketing with minors in the Business of Entertainment and Psychological & Brain Sciences. In addition to working with the First Year Center, I am a Calculus II Peer Led Team Learning Leader and a Student Tour Leader. I have loved being a WUSA and bonding with my floor community as a first-year student and can’t wait to continue to work with the First Year Center and students!
My name is Morgan Solender and I am a Junior from Westchester, New York. I am a double major in Educational Studies and Psychology with a minor in Spanish. In the First Year Center, I serve as the Transfer and Exchange WUSA Chair. Outside of the classroom and the First Year Center, I am on the executive board and a tutor for Niños Cambios Puertas Tutoring and Mentoring Program, a member of the Campus Interview Team, and the Secretary for my sorority, Kappa Delta. I am honored to be a part of such an amazing FYX team and I can’t wait to welcome transfer and exchange students to WashU!
My name is Clarinda Tan and I am from St. Louis, MO. I am so excited to serve as the Integrated Marketing and Communications Chair in the First Year Center! As a member of the Class of 2021, I am double majoring in Global Health and Environment and Health Care Management with a minor in Marketing. Outside the FYC, I love tour guiding for Student Tour Leaders, serving as Competitions Chair for CS40, and creating artwork through WashU’s CANVAS art club. I hope to make the transition experience the best it can possibly be for all incoming students!
My name is Logan Thoms and I am a student in the Class of 2021 from Okawville, Illinois, where the closest city is St. Louis. I am majoring in Electrical Engineering with a possible minor in the Business of Sports. I will be a First-Year WUSA Chair throughout the upcoming year. Outside of the First-Year Center, I enjoy practicing with the Club Golf team and volunteering with Campus Y. I have really enjoyed the work I’ve done through the First-Year Center because it’s allowed me to aid in the growth of the First Year students as they attempt to navigate their first few semesters here. I’m proud that I made, and continue to help make, their transition here an easier one.
