WashU provides courses and other services designed for members of the WashU community to strengthen academic and professional communication skills in English. These services can facilitate your transition to WashU, help you engage with the university and surrounding community, and position you to be a competitive candidate for opportunities in life after WashU.
Course Eligibility
Courses are open to any member of the WashU community whose first language is a language other than English. High-intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in English is a prerequisite. Full-time WashU students may register for the courses offered within their schools. Postdoctoral appointees, other WashU employees, and members of the St. Louis community may take the English language support courses offered through University College.
