Dr. Joy Hoffman has accepted the position as Interim Dean of the Center for Diversity and Inclusion beginning July 1, 2019. Dr. Hoffman is currently an Independent Trainer and Consultant in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice. Previously Dr. Hoffman served as the Director of Diversity Initiatives and Resource Centers at California State University, Fullerton overseeing five resource centers (African American, Asian Pacific American, Chicana and Chicano, Titan Dreamers and LGBTQ Resource Centers). Prior to her work at Cal State Fullerton Dr. Hoffman also served as the Director of the Cultural Center at Whittier College and the Director of Multi-Ethnic Programs at Azusa Pacific University. Dr. Hoffman received her BA in Liberal Studies from Concordia University, her MA in College Student Affairs from Azusa Pacific University, and her doctorate in higher education leadership from California Lutheran University. Dr. Hoffman has presented extensively at national and regional conferences and has conducted external reviews of multicultural and resource centers at multiple campuses. For her work in higher education and contributions to the field of student affairs, Dr. Hoffman was named a NASPA Pillar of the Profession in March, 2019.
