Clarissa Smith

I am a Physical Therapist, a Counselor, and a Public Health Worker. As a seasoned therapist for 20 years, I have a diverse knowledge of therapy having worked in a variety of settings including acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient rehabilitation. During my therapy career, I have been delegated to higher positions in both the clinical and administrative ladders. Additionally, I have the unique experience of being a Pre-Health Career Adviser since 2010, where I support undergraduate and graduate students in their journey to becoming healthcare professionals. Through individual and group advising, I provide constant support in learning job preparation skills such as effective networking, productive career exploration, persuasive resume and cover letter development, prolific personal statement creation, and dynamic interviewing. More recently, I am working with the St. Louis County Public Health Department as a Team Leader for contact tracers and case investigators who are working on the COVID project. As an experienced tracer and investigator, I assist public health staff by trouble-shooting complex issues that arise when calls are made to positive cases and their contacts
