Carly Vanderheyden joined the WashU Recreation staff in January 2018. She serves as a membership specialist at the Sumers Recreation Center in addition to assisting with the day-to-day operations of WashU Rec’s social media presence. As a membership specialist, Vanderheyden assists with membership sales, training new student workers for the front desk, and organizing recreation program information to help the front desk staff best serve WashU Rec’s members.
Beyond her positions at WashU, Vanderheyden is a professional dancer and communications coordinator with The Big Muddy Dance Company, as well as a dance instructor, yoga instructor, freelance photographer, and Certified Health Education Specialist through the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. She graduated from The University of Iowa in May 2017 with a BFA in Dance, BA In Health and Human Physiology, and certificate in Arts Entrepreneurship.
