Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, WashU Rec has temporarily moved all BearFit classes online. Most BearFit classes stream live on the WashU Rec YouTube channel and all classes are available on-demand. BearFit virtual classes are free and open to anyone.
BearFit Spring 2021 Schedule
Each week throughout the month of March, WashU Rec will release three new video workouts to registered participants — a strength and endurance workout, a mobility and endurance workout, and a high intensity interval training (HIIT) workout. Registration is free. Register via the link below.
WashU Rec is not currently offering in-person classes at the Sumers Recreation Center.
WashU Rec offers a versatile schedule of BearFit group exercise classes led by an experienced team of instructors.
Most BearFit classes are held in the Sumers Recreation Center’s three group exercise studios — the Olympic Studio, Studio 1904 and The Dark Room.
BearFit classes are complimentary to anyone with a membership to the Sumers Recreation Center. All BearFit classes except cycling classes and premium pilates classes operate on a drop-in basis and all classes are first-come, first served while spaces last.
Members must have a cycling class pass in order to participate in each BearFit cycling class. Cycling class passes can be obtained up to 30 minutes in advance of each class at the equipment desk, and must be presented to the instructor upon entry into the studio. You must have your ID or membership card to obtain a class pass. There are only 24 passes available for each class, and passes will not be available earlier than 30 minutes prior to the start of class.
Boxing gloves are required for BearFit boxing classes, and participants are responsible for providing their own gloves. Gloves are available for purchase at the Sumers Recreation Center member services desk.
WashU Rec offers paid Pilates classes that incorporate the use of Pilates reformers. Cost of these classes is $10 per class, and class passes can be purchased in the online rec store. Space is limited to five participants per class and class spaces are first-come, first-served.
